I've put together a little instructional video for all the pups out there who are learning to fetch.
step 1 Don't fetch just any old thing. Never lower yourself to fetching socks and do not fall into the trap of the stereotypical newspaper fetch. Have some pride. Olympic mascot stuffies can now be had for a song and are great for fetch.
step 2 Begin by fetching indoors, humans are notoriously poor with their aim. There is less margin for error if you fetch down a long hallway.
step 3 Be sure to look adorable when you fetch. This includes bounding, pouncing, head shaking, ear flopping and maybe even a playful growl.
step 4 The Trap. Once you have retreived the toy, do not, I repeat, do not give it up without a fight! Humans expect it.
