benfits of the hike

Enderby Cliffs
again

soft trail
lots of people and pups
shady
squirrels and birds

Today was sunny and very warm. I enjoyed the shade whenever I could. For some reason, the trail today was not 20 minutes too long.

Benefits of hiking-

a) in the hail and rain
-exercise
-
-
-

b) in the warm sunshine
-exercise
-great sniffing
-squirrels
-the drive-in

It's not just for humans, you know.

A trail weary, dusty, bug bitten, sweaty pup appreciates a bit of soft serve too.

Family Travels

The family and I loaded into the truck for a road trip. It was good because grandma was with us. She always has treats.

I love treats!

We stayed at our cabin and grandma stayed with the neighbors in her very own little house! Cozy as a pup on a pillow.

There was yummy food to be had for breakfast at Nakiska Ranch. I had to stay in the truck until the breakfast was over. I did get to meet a handsome dog with lovely long legs, though. So don't feel sorry for me missing out on omelets, bacon, ham, cheese, buns, melon and pancakes.

We did the normal human activity of looking at waterfalls. I don't get it.

The best part was the family. They are full of smiles and belly rubs and games of chase and fetch.

I kind of like road trips.

Walk the River

Jim Watt Riverwalk
Enderby
1.2 k, paved, level

birds and bees
tubers floating
baby strollers
roller bladers
pups need a leash
water for swimming
1 paw up

The river is full and great for playing fetch.

This guy was enjoying the berries.

What the....?

Enderby Cliffs
new trail
20 minutes too long
1 soggy paw up

soft trailbed
shady forest
giant Ponderosa among the cedars
few hikers and pups
surprising grouse
squirrels taunting
ominous skies

It started out sunny and I needed a drink.

a Ponderosa out of place.

Clue #1

Clue # 2

What the....hail?

We huddled under a cedar. Lucky us, the hail only lasted 10 minutes. It was followed by 10 minutes of torrential rain.
The trail is 20 minutes too long.

A Party

There was a party at our place. I invited Lola the Goddess and Uncle Smudge. We had archery, target shooting, campfires, chime creating, food, fishing, coffee, hiking, waterfall watching, drinks, rain, rafting, swimming, laughing, bears, Voyageur paddling, s'mores, dough boys, boat rides, sunshine, mosquitoes, and then a few more biting insects.

What's a party without all the humans you love?

Log Inn Pub Burger

The humans left me sitting in the truck.
I knew they were doing something yummy without me.
Luck was on my side, when I received a puppy sized bite of world famous burger.
yes, it was lip smacking good.

Four paws up! and a fat belly, followed by a satisfied nap.
