Wells Gray, vacation

Shiela Lake, Long Hill, Aug. 16
Wells Gray Provincial Park
approx 13 k return
605 m elevation gain

flowerful meadows for romping
streams, lakes, snow patches
soft trail
cool wind on the ridge with rocks
a few hikers
some mud for cooling the paws
remember your insect repellent

2 paws up

the flowerful meadows caused the shutterbugs to start quaking in their boots

I waited patiently for the cameras to stop clicking

The ridge has rocks to tear up your paws

The humans put these boots on me and they helped

Clearwater Lake, Aug. 19
Barview Beach Paddle
sandy, warm
calm water
sunny with loons
3 1/2 hour paddle return

2 paws up

Be sure to allow time for a beach picnic, swimming, beach strolling, and soaking up the sun.

My own private beach umbrella

What is this get-up? How humiliating....

88 Ridge, Aug 21
Wells Gray Provincial Park
approx 8 k return
600 m elevation gain

soft muddy trail, steeply up
dense bushy forest, dripping
grassy meadows
no hikers
rocks for picnics

2 paws up

Rain again. A cool breeze prevented us from reaching the top of the ridge. We shivered through our picnic and then went home.

searching for the perfect picnic rock

Lounging
at the cabin
as long as I can
as much as I want
on my vacation

hmmm, who's that peeking out from the back of the woodshed?
